Understanding Gift Card Quotes: Face Value, Currency and Buyback Amount

The amount printed on a card and the amount agreed for buying it back are separate figures. Match every quote to the exact cards, quantity and settlement currency so face value, currency conversion and the buyback amount are not confused.

01Distinguish Three Amounts

Face value is the amount shown on the card and must include its currency. A buyback quote is the trade amount support gives for particular cards. Check settlement against the final agreed terms rather than relying on a number without a unit.

  • Ask whether the quote is per card, per group or for the whole batch.
  • Record the card currency and settlement currency separately.
  • If fees or other deductions apply, agree what they are, who pays them and the expected net amount first.

02Check a Batch Total With Simple Arithmetic

This example only shows how to read a quote and multiply by the quantity. It is not a current offer, market exchange rate or acceptance promise. Suppose both parties agree on two cards with a face value of USD 100 each and a buyback amount of 70 USDT per card. The quoted total for that group is 140 USDT.

ItemArithmetic Example Only
Card face valueUSD 100 each, two cards
Assumed buyback amount70 USDT per card
Quoted group total70 USDT × 2=140 USDT

03Confirm Each Group, Even at the Same Face Value

Confirm the brand, issuing region, currency, product type, quantity and use status alongside the quote. If two batches differ, do not assume the same trade terms apply. Let support assess acceptance and then confirm the amount for the relevant cards.

The 140 USDT figure is only a quoted total calculated from an assumed per-card amount. Transfer arrangements and any applicable fees still need separate agreement. This calculation makes no claim about conversion or value equivalence between USD and USDT.

04Reconfirm When a Quote Changes

Golden Earth quotes typically adjust with the market every 15 minutes to 2 hours and require current support confirmation. An old screenshot, a quote for another group or an earlier enquiry should not be treated as the settlement terms for a new trade.

A Useful Confirmation Message

Please confirm which card group this quote covers, the amount per card, the number of cards, the total and the settlement currency. If fees apply, what amount should I expect to receive?

05Agree the Amount and Timing Together

Agreeing on a quote does not mean the cards have been checked or redeemed. After successful redemption, bookkeeping and confirmation of receiving details, support promptly arranges payout on the agreed terms. Arrival depends on payment-provider and network processing. Confirm expected timing and any special requests before submitting cards.

Before submitting a card, confirm acceptance, the current buyback amount, settlement method and expected timing with support.
